Food for Families

Mission ABQ partners with Adelante Desert Harvest food Rescue and other sources to give away over 170,000lbs of food per year. This equates to about 150,000 meals every year. This is one of our primary ways of meeting the needs of our community. We do this by both giving food boxes and cooking hot meals.

Sunday AM Breakfast

Every Sunday Morning at about 8am, breakfast is served to our community in need at our ABQ Central location (8216 Central Ave SE) by volunteers from Mission ABQ and Sandia Church of the Nazarene.

Thursday PM Dinner

Every Thursday Evening at about 4:00pm, dinner is served to our community in need at our ABQ Central location (8216 Central Ave SE) by volunteers from one of our partners, Beyond Borders, and Mission ABQ.

Grace FREE Store

Additionally, starting at 3:30 on Thursday afternoons, we operate Grace FREE Store and provide for some basic needs of our community, particularly the unhoused. Shoppers, who are volunteers with Mission ABQ, talk with members of the community about their specific needs and find items in the free store that meet their needs. We intentionally do not lay piles of clothes out on the table any more for people to sort through. This breeds indignity and makes community members into scavengers who waste and take what they don’t need instead of giving them dignity, speaking to them directly, and valuing them as a person and meeting their specific needs.
