When you’re struggling to keep your housing, the last thing you need is to navigate a maze of agencies, phone numbers, and paperwork alone. That’s why Mission ABQ places Service Coordinators directly in affordable housing communities — so help meets people where they live.
What We Do
In partnership with Yes Housing, Inc., Mission ABQ provides on-site Resident Services Coordinators at five affordable housing complexes across Albuquerque:
Copper Terrace | Imperial | Nuevo Atrisco | Calle Cuarta | Solar Villa
Our coordinators help residents with: SNAP and food assistance enrollment, LIHEAP energy assistance, Medicaid/Medicare navigation, rental assistance and eviction prevention, lease education and tenant rights, credit counseling and financial literacy, employment and education referrals, and connection to healthcare and mental health services.
These aren’t drop-in visits. Our coordinators are on-site 10–15 hours per week, building trust and long-term relationships with the families they serve. They advocate with property management, follow up on referrals, and walk alongside residents through complex systems..
Community Gardens
Through our partnership with Yes Housing and a Direct Relief garden management addendum, Mission ABQ manages community gardens at several properties. These gardens provide fresh produce to residents, hands-on gardening education, and a gathering space that builds community. Using the NM standard of 1.42 lbs of food per square foot, even a small garden plot makes a real difference for families experiencing food insecurity.
